IPL 2020: ‘All hail Lord Tewatia’ – Virender Sehwag heaps praise on Rajasthan Royals’ hero Rahul Tewatia

Rahul Tewatia's sublime hitting and partnership with Riyan Parag led Rajasthan Royals to a 5-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Rahul Tewatia

Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has heaped praise on Rajasthan Royals (RR) all-rounder Rahul Tewatia following his heroics against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League that led his side to victory. Rahul Tewatia was coming off the back of a string of good performances in the IPL.

His most notable of the season so far was against Kings XI Punjab when he pulled off a stunning heist from a difficult position. The 27-year-old who was promoted up the order on that day was struggling to get bat to ball. However, he struck 5 sixes off a Sheldon Cottrell to take his side close to the target before the tail-enders did the rest.

Though today’s performance wasn’t as explosive, it was equally important for RR’s victory. He walked in when RR were in a real spot of bother having lost half their side. But his fluent hitting coupled with Riyan Parag’s support and equally adept hitting, led to RR snatching victory from SRH.

‘Unbelievable fightback’ – Sehwag
