Rohit Sharma spills the bean for the 1st game
Meanwhile, though the schedule is yet to be officially released by the IPL Governing Council. Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has spilled the beans by dropping a huge hint about the IPL 2020’s opening match.
Rohit while paying a tribute to his former captain and just retired MS Dhoni has literally revealed that their opponent in the first game will be Chennai Super Kings as he is waiting for Mahi at the toss on 19th September.
The first week of the IPL could possibly see the English and Australian players missing. Post the conclusion of the white-ball series in England, the players will land in the UAE only around September 17 or 18. Following which a week’s quarantine will come into effect. Any player who is found to have contracted the virus, would have to undergo a 14-day quarantine period as per the bio-safety protocol.
The IPL is supposed to kick start from September 19 for a course of 53 days. In the first time in the tournament’s history of 13 years, the final would be played on a weekday, i.e. Tuesday.
