Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) opening batsman Chris Gayle has recovered from stomach flu. The left-handed batsman is likely to play the upcoming match against Royal Challengers Bangalore ( RCB).
KXIP will face RCB in their next clash on Thursday (October 15) at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. This will be the 31st match of the Dream11 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020.
Chris Gayle likely to back in squad
“In an exciting development that is sure to delight Kings XI Punjab fans all over the world, the star opening batsman Chris Gayle is back on the training ground, having recovered from his stomach bug,” Kings XI Punjab posted on their official website.
Gayle was missing during the clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) as he had suffered a stomach flue. He was also admitted to the hospital but he has now recovered. Currently, Gayle is training with the team.
“Don’t forget my style and flare” – Chris Gayle
KXIP head coach Anil Kumble had said that the team were looking to include Chris Gayle in playing XI against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) before he hit by the stomach flu. Gayle was again missing during the clash against KKR in Abu Dhabi.
“Chris Gayle was going to play today’s match but he is sick. He is down with food poisoning that’s why he isn’t in the playing eleven,” Kumble had told commentators.
After the game, the UniverseBoss posted a video from a hospital room. He wrote, “The struggle is real…Jah Jah.”
Later on the same day, Gayle posted a photo with a caption, “I can tell you this!!! I will never go down without a fight!! I Am The #UniverseBoss – That will never change You can learn from me…but it’s not everything I do you should follow!! Don’t forget my style and flare too!! #LivingDiLife #Always Thanks for all your concerns peeps, much appreciated (I was on a phone call).”
The lot of questions has been raised around Gayle’s position in KXIP squad and if he would get a game. The franchise is presently at the bottom of the IPL 2020 points table with just two points from seven matches.
