Former England star bowler Graeme Swann has lauded Delhi Capitals (DC) opening batsman Prithvi Shaw. He called the youngster a “miniature version of Virender Sehwag” after his blistering knock of 64 runs against Chennai Super Kings in the Dream11 Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) on Saturday (October 10).
Prithvi has certainly managed to impress the cricketing fraternity by his brilliant performance in the ongoing IPL 2020. He has scored 202 runs from eight matches so far with an average of 25.25 including two half-centuries.
The 20-year-old has scored 42, 66 and 64 in the previous matches but failed to score big in the last 3 matches for his side. Swann also praised the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer and head coach Ricky Ponting on the Star Sports’ show Cricket Connected.

“There are a couple of things. Shreyas Iyer is a very very good leader. Ricky Ponting, I saw him smile after a game which he never did when he played against England. So, I think they are a happy camper.
“Prithvi Shaw, as well. I love the way he bats, he is like a baby Sehwag it’s just he is like a miniature version of Virender Sehwag, who was one of my favourite Indian players of all time.
“I think, all in all, they have got a very strong team and they are playing with a lot of confidence and I think they look like the team to beat at the moment,” Swann said
Currently, Delhi Capitals are placed on the second position on the IPL 2020 points table with 12 points. The Shreyas Iyer-led side will face Chennai Super Kings in the 34th match of IPL on Saturday (October 17).
