To get the ball rolling for Indian Premier League (IPL) this year seemed like a mountain to climb due to ravaging coronavirus pandemic. But the cricketing extravaganza has finally arrived, albeit without specatators, with tournament’s two best teams — defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) locking horns in a high voltage clash today.

There can’t be a better contest than this, with the CSK being led by one of the best captains to have ever graced the game, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, while Mumbai is helmed by Rohit Sharma as their supreme commander.

In the 2019 edition of the cash-rich league, MI beat CSK by the narrowest of margins to lift the IPL title for the fourth time, surpassing CSK’s three victories. And Rohit seems to be enjoying the against their arch-rivals, saying CSK “is just another opposition for us”.

In a video post on Mumbai Indians social media account, Rohit said, “Playing against CSK is always fun, we enjoy that battle. But when we play the game it is just another opposition for us and that is how we want to move forward.”

Rohit has been compared with the guile of Dhoni’s captaincy at times as well. Critics also feel he is the best man currently to lead the national side as well.
