IPL 2020: Kartik Tyagi says he is ‘blessed and honored’ to share the field with Virat Kohli
Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) 19-year-old pacer Kartik Tyagi has been grabbing eyeballs with his accurate fast-bowling. He has taken 5 wickets in the 5 matches he has been a part of. But more importantly, he has been economical with his tight lines and lengths.
The youngster first shot into the limelight with his performances in the U-19 Cricket World Cup for India where he impressed with his pace and ability to generate movement. He was then picked up by RR in the auction for the Indian Premier League 2020.
In RR’s match yesterday against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Dubai, Tyagi was impressive with his bowling. He bowled the 18th over of the second innings against a marauding AB de Villiers, he conceded just one boundary.
Earlier, he also picked up the crucial wicket of Virat Kohli who was caught at deep-midwicket by Rahul Tewatia. Ultimately, despite his efforts RR lost the game thanks to de Villier’s brilliance.
Tyagi posts picture with Kohli
Following the thriller between RR and RCB, Tyagi took to Twitter to post a picture of himself with Virat Kohli whom he dismissed in the match. He captioned the image, “Blessed and honoured to be share the field with @imVkohli” (sic).
Tyagi has just begun his career and has a long way to go. If his performances are a sign of things to come, he has a great chance of going the distance.
