Rajasthan Royals (RR) have had an Indian Premier League season of ups and downs so far. They started off in terrific fashion as they won their first two matches with explosive batting performances. But since then they haven’t been able to replicate the same form. Although they’ve notched up wins after that against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), they haven’t been convincing enough to call them genuine contenders for the playoffs.
However, RR aren’t far away from the top 4 and destiny is very much in their hands, especially following Kolkata Knight Riders’ loss yesterday. RR will want the likes of Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler to come good. The latter came up with a brilliant knock against CSK in their previous match to walk away with the Man of the Match. If Buttler continues in the same fashion, RR will fancy their chances of making it to the playoffs.
‘I’ve been doing ok’ – Jos Buttler
Jos Buttler spoke on his own form and that of the team’s in an official release issued by Rajasthan Royals. He said, “I’ve been doing ok, not quite scored as many runs as I would’ve liked to and help the team win matches. We’ve started to play better in the last few matches. We probably should’ve won the last three but have only managed to win one of those, so we now have four matches remaining, all of which are must-win for us.”
“We will need to win all our games to give us a chance of making the playoffs. There’s obviously a bit of a gap between the top 4 and us and we know the equation for us, so we move on to the next game with a hope to do well and hopefully win against the Sunrisers,” Buttler added.
RR face Sunrisers Hyderabad today in Abu Dhabi.
