Multimedia messaging app Snapchat has partnered with five Indian Premier League teams to provide fans with exclusive behind-the-scenes updates. The IPL 2020 commenced from September 19 and is being played behind closed doors at the UAE. Since fans are not allowed inside stadiums, Snapchat has come up with a creative partnership with teams to help fans engage with their favorite players and teams.
For this purpose, Snapchat have released a collection of unique lenses. Fans can now use the facepaint lens of Kings XI Punjab or the cap lens of Mumbai Indians. There is also the option of playing a game of cricket with the Kolkata Knight Riders lens and a chance to dance to the tune of Chennai Super Kings’ theme song.

Delhi Capitals is also one of the five teams with whom Snapchat has partnered. Their captain Shreyas Iyer expressed his admiration for the fun lenses saying, “It was fun to work with the Snapchat team on this fun lens. I am excited to see our Delhi Capitals fans use the lenses to show their support for us.”
Using Snapchat, fans can also turn on notifications for their favorite teams and not miss on updates relating to them. They can do this only for the five teams that have partnered with them – Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals.
