Rajasthan Royals (RR) all-rounder Rahul Tewatia and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) pacer Khaleel Ahmed were involved in a heated altercation during the IPL 2020 match played yesterday in Dubai. RR fashioned a jailbreak in yesterday’s match courtesy Rahul Tewatia and Riyan Parag. The game looked over when RR found themselves 5 wickets down while chasing a score of 159.
SRH had got to the said respectable score courtesy of calculated knocks from Manish Pandey and David Warner. In the chase, Khaleel was excellent with the new ball as the RR top order consisting of overseas players was removed in no time. Sanju Samson and Robin Uthappa didn’t last long as well. It was up to Tewatia and Parag to pull off a heist. And surprisingly, they did it.
The duo combined well and decimated the famed SRH bowling attack. Even star leggie Rashid Khan was not spared as Tewatia hit him for three fours in a row. Tewatia and Parag stitched together a partnership of 85 runs to lead RR to victory with one ball to spare. Rahul Tewatia was named the ‘Man of the Match’ for his match-changing efforts.
Heated altercation mars thrilling match
As soon as Parag hit Khaleel for a six in the final over, heated words were exchanged between Tewatia and Khaleel. It was the result of a run-in between the duo when Tewatia had tried to go for a couple of runs. The matter escalated after the match and SRH captain David Warner had to intervene to calm things down.
Tewatia looked very animated and was seen firing words at Khaleel. But the two soon made peace and Khaleel was seen putting an arm around Tewatia’s shoulder.
