IPL 2020: ‘We can be really proud of what we have done’ – Virat Kohli reflects on RCB’s season

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were knocked out of the Indian Premier League after a thrilling encounter in the Eliminator against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). With the loss, RCB’s wait for an IPL trophy continued as they haven’t managed to get their hands on it for the last 13 years.
In the Eliminator, they were on the wrong side of the result again in a thriller that went to the last over. Having given SRH a modest target of 132 following a largely disappointing batting performance, the RCB bowlers had done will to pick up four wickets early and peg back SRH. However, Kane Williamson and Jason Holder were terrific for SRH as the two stitched together a match-winning partnership to take their side through with two balls to spare.
‘We have created a lot of memories’ – Virat Kohli looks back
In a video posted by Royal Challengers Bangalore, Virat Kohli reflected on the season in a final talk to his teammates. He said, “We spoke of creating memories and we have done that a lot this season. When we said this is the best environment we’ve played it, we were right about it. We had a great time together. We got to know each other very well. The camaraderie pushed us far and deep into the tournament.”
“We can be proud of how we’ve done. Despite the losses, we never gave up. There is a positive right there that we are heading in the right direction. I thank the support staff and the coaches who have created a brilliant structure here. Their hardwork, planning and detail have been excellent,” Kohli continued.
Kohli signed off saying, “It’s been difficult in the bubble away from families. We’ve just had each other’s company and we’ve cherished the company. As long as we keep looking forward to coming together as a team and enjoying our time together, we will have one hell of a tournament next year. It’s all down to the character of all of you. Keep holding that in your heart and keep believing.”
