Son of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun Tendulkar left an imprint on the IPL franchises ahead of the auction scheduled to take place on February 18, in Chennai. His recent performance spoke volumes of his potential where he smashed a 31-ball unbeaten 77 and picked up three wickets for 41 runs as MIG Cricket Club handed Islam Gymkhana a 194-run defeat in a second-round Group A match of the 73rd Police Invitation Shield cricket tournament here on Sunday.
The tournament is planned under Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA)
This match was the first cricket competition in the city since the Coronavirus-forced lockdown.
The youngster was in sublime form and smashed five fours and eight sixes and played a riveting knock. He rode off-spinner Hashir Dafedar for a ride as Arjun hit the bowler for five sixes in one over.
Besides, the 21-year-old allrounder wreaked havoc with the ball as he toppled three wickets.
Arjun’s qualification to feature in the IPL came as he recently made his senior Mumbai debut when he played in the 2020-21 edition of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He has now been registered at a base price of 20 Lakh and will go under the hammer during the IPL 2021 Auction.
Earlier, Arjun has bowled to Indian national team players in the nets and also represented India U-19 during a tour of Sri Lanka. He was even spotted with the Mumbai Indians (MI) during IPL 2020 held in the United Arab Emirates.
