The most awaited date of the Indian summer has been released. Auction for the 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to take place on February 18. After months of speculations, the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed the development after numerous reports claimed so. The franchises released the list of retained players on January 20. As of now, 55 players will be available for the IPL 14 auctions.

The trade window is open

Following the release of list of retained players, the trade window is currently open. The window, which will be open till February 4, will allow franchises to trade the retained players. In this window, teams can exchange players for players or can go for all cash deals.

As of now, only three players have been traded in the window and all of them have been all-cash deals. The Delhi Capitals have traded Daniel Sams and Harshal Patel to Royal Challengers Bangalore. The latest deal saw Rajasthan Royals trade Robin Uthappa to Chennai Super Kings. Going into the auction, Kings XI Punjab boasts of the largest purse while Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad have the lowest amount left in their purse.
