Chennai Super Kings vs Delhi Capitals
Action from last year’s match between CSK and DC

Chennai Super Kings struggled badly last year in the UAE and will hope to put an improved performance this time around. MS Dhoni is ready and looks all set to lead the Chennai Super Kings side once again.

The Chennai Super Kings play ten of their league matches across three venues – Mumbai, Bangalore, and Kolkata. The venues are generally considered batting friendly with not much help for spinners.

For Chennai Super Kings, they will hope that they their batting doesn’t stumble like they did in the previous season. With Suresh Raina back and the addition of Cheteshwar Pujara, the team will hope that their middle order concerns are sorted.

The team have an almost full squad to start off with, with Lungi Ngidi unavailable as he is yet to join the team and waiting for Josh Hazlewood‘s replacement Jason Behrendorff to join as well.

On the other hand, the Delhi Capitals reached their first-ever final during the last season. The team has grown significantly since Ricky Ponting arrived in as the head coach. From finishing last in 2018 to grabbing the 3rd spot in 2019 and ending as runner-up in 2020, they are looking to go one step ahead this time and clinch the IPL title.

The unavailability of skipper Shreyas Iyer is definitely a huge blow for the Delhi Capitals. The Delhi Capitals are also missing some key players with Axar Patel out having tested positive for the novel coronavirus and both Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje under mandatory quarantine.

Rishabh Pant has been handed over the job of leading the Delhi side in Iyer’s absence and he will hope that the firepower in the Capitals’ batting order could well prove to be the decisive factor in this game.
