Australian pacer Jason Behrendorff is all set to train with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as he has completed his quarantine procedure upon arrival in India as a replacement signing for Josh Hazlewood who pulled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. The latter had pulled out due to bio-bubble fatigue and to concentrate on the Australian domestic season following which CSK roped in Behrendorff as his replacement.

CSK are currently on top of the table and are on a roll due to their four-match winning streak. After losing the first match of the tournament to Delhi Capitals (DC), the MS Dhoni-led side has gone from strength to strength and brushed aside teams with some aplomb. Their positive batting approach coupled with more than decent bowling has ensured that the other teams have found the Men in Yellow a hard nut to crack. With a spot in the playoffs looking likely, CSK would want to go all the way this year.

Jason Behrendorff took to his Instagram stories today to post a picture alongside a swimming pool, confirming that his quarantine period has ended. He wrote, “Great to be out of quarantine! Can’t wait for training tonight” and tagged the Chennai Super Kings franchise. Although he would be available for selection for CSK’s match tomorrow against Sunrisers Hyderabad, it is unlikely that he would straightaway be drafted into the playing 11.

CSK also confirmed the pacer’s return by tweeting a picture of him captioned, “Beh-run-dorff in action”. Behrendorff quote tweeted it and wrote, “Great to be out of quarantine and back at training.
