The hero for PBKS in the win were KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda with the bat as the duo got explosive half-centuries. With the ball, it was Arshdeep Singh who defended 13 runs in the last over against a set Sanju Samson who came up with one of the knocks of a lifetime, getting 119 off 63 balls. With 5 required off the last ball, Samson hit the ball to Hooda at wide long-off who took the catch.

On a day when the English duo of Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler had failures, Sanju Samson put on a crucial partnership with young Riyan Parag who displayed his big-hitting prowess with some crisp shots. Parag got 25 runs off just 11 balls and his innings contained some eye-catching shots. But none was as pleasing as one shot that he hit off Mohammad Shami in the 14th over of the match.

As Shami steamed in to bowl the fourth ball of the over, Parag effortlessly flicked the ball over the deep mid-wicket ropes for a staggering six. It was well and truly the highlight of his knock and it played a big role in easing the pressure off Samson and helping him get close to the target, although in the end, it did not matter.
