IPL 2021: WATCH – Deepak Hooda takes a fumbling catch to send back Rishabh Pant

Delhi Capitals (DC) notched up a facile win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in a high-scoring encounter at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Putting PBKS in to bat first, DC found the going tough in the beginning as openers KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal made merry. The latter was the aggressor as he seemed to be set for a century before he was dismissed. The former played the role of an anchor well.
After the duo’s dismissals, Deepak Hooda and Shahrukh Khan ensured that the score crossed 190. In the chase, Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw came out all guns blazing with the former looking in imperious touch. He scored 92 runs to help DC get close to the target. Some clean hitting from Marcus Stoinis then saw the side comfortably through as they recorded their second win of the tournament.
Watch – Deepak Hooda’s catch to dismiss Rishabh Pant
In the 18th over bowled by Jhye Richardson, DC skipper Rishabh Pant decided to take him on but did not get the connection required as the ball looped towards long-on. Deepak Hooda was on the end of it and it should have been a straightforward catch as the ball did not have enough venom to cause trouble. However, the catch didn’t prove to be as easy as it initially seemed when the ball was in the air.
Hooda fumbled not one, not twice but thrice before holding on to it off the fourth attempt. The catch caused a light moment among the exhausted PBKS players due to the hilarity of the attempt. The catch did not prove to be of much importance however, as new batsman Lalit Yadav and Stoinis ensured that DC sailed past the target with ease.
