Ever since James Harden has joined the Nets to form a superteam with Durant and Kyrie, he has been warning the league of ‘Scary Hours’. These scary hours, however, were sporadic. Someone or the other would be out due to any injury or covid-protocol in the Nets team. It was the case last year and it is the case this year too.

This year, Kyrie Irving decided not to get vaccinated due to personal reasons. This meant Kyrie would be able to play only road games. But the Nets management decided not to include Kyrie in any game this season. But as more and more players entered the covid-protocol, It became the need of the hour to dial Kyrie and have him play the remaining road games.

James Harden said as NYPost quoted – “Obviously, we all know how special of a talent Kyrie is and what he means to this organization and our team. So just to be around him, even if it’s only for road games, will be huge for us. He obviously makes all our jobs a lot easier. But just having him around and obviously, he’s a very, very skilled basketball player but just having his personality around the team now”

There is weight in James Harden’s claims. Last season, the Nets big-3 of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden played only eight regular-season games together. They all were healthy come playoffs but that could be sustained for only one round. James Harden and Kyrie Irving suffered injuries subsequently.

However, in the playoff series against the Boston Celtics last season, it was an offensive bonanza and the first true glimpse of how dominating nets can be. The Nets trio averaged 85.2 points per game for the series. James Harden created chances for 27.2 points per game, Kyrie created 8.6 while Durant 7.8 points per game. This adds up to 43.6 points per game created by the Nets trio.

This shows not the three players are not only good scorers but also good playmakers. Kyrie Irving and James Harden have been elite playmaking guards for years, while Durant is also starting to bring that side out this season as per the demand of the game.
