Italian Open 2019

Ever since the resumption of tennis is announced, the situation has worsened at some places leading to the cancellation or totally spectator-less tournaments. However, while US Open will be kicking off as per scheduled but behind closed doors, organizers have canceled Citi Open in Washington DC.

While some tournaments have decided to welcome 30 or 60 percent of spectators, Italy Open 2020 has decided to follow the same protocols as of US Open. Feliciano Lopez, tournament director of Madrid Open mention that they will be going super strict on protocols to ensure safety and security.

But however, they will be getting underway with 30 percent of spectators in the house. And as for French Open, the organizers have decided to get underway with 60 percent of spectators. Not only this, but the tickets for Clay Masters are already out on sale.

Spectator-less tournament for Rome Masters or Italy Open 2020

Italy, being one of the worst affected country by COVID-19 during it’s early stage, now as stated by La Republica is free from the virus.

Still, the organizer’s committee feels it’s not safe to conduct a tournament with spectators and hence came with the same model as US Open for 2020 season.

The organisers feels the social distancing is not possible in such tournaments, and they want to avoid the spread of the virus as much as possible.

The Rome Masters will be starting on 20 September till 27th of the same month, and we hope that no one gets affected.
