As the Brooklyn Nets rested the number 2 scorer in the league, Kevin Durant against OKC in their latest encounter. Their other 2 marquee player James Harden and Kyrie Irving turn the heat up scoring 25 points each to lead the Nets against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The league’s most offensive team showed just why they are considered the same as they drained in 147 points against OKC. Even without Kevin Durant, Nets had 9 players scoring in double digits.

Bruce Brown who started in place of Kevin Durant for the Nets, registered a remarkable performance, scoring 19 points.  But the man of the hour was James Harden who scored a triple-double for his team with 25 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. It clearly seems like Harden is able to deliver more and better ever since he has arrived in Brooklyn. Significant to note, this was James Harden’s third triple-double after joining the Nets just 2 weeks ago.

James Harden triple-double leads Nets past OKC

“We’ve just got to find that balance of when to be aggressive and when to make plays,” Harden said who scored his 3rd triple-double as per ESPN. “I think even with our aggressiveness, we’re still playmakers. I think throughout the course of the game, we did a really good job of getting our guys involved, but then being aggressive and scoring the ball as well. Nothing really changes, even when KD is in the lineup as well.”

“We were active on both ends of the floor,” Harden said. “Coaches drew up a beautiful game plan and we executed on both ends of the ball. We like to see carryover and these last few games; we’ve been carrying over. We’ve been playing well.”

The Nets led 76-59 at halftime, their season high point total for a first half and the most the Thunder have allowed in any half this season

“It’s huge for us, man,” said Bruce Brown. “It was fun to be out there. We were laughing, playing hard, joking around. We were loose. We had fun. Everybody got in, so that was cool.”
