The Los Angeles Lakers may be in a bit of trouble right now. No doubt they are on a winning streak currently. The tough run of games this week has exerted a lot of pressure on the franchise. With three consecutive overtime games, it has been a lot to ask from the team. Missing their front court Anthony Davis for two matches has been difficult. And LeBron James playing all the games with a lot of exhaustion has raised a lot of issues addressed by James Worthy.

The last three overtimes have been a tussle for Lakers. LeBron has averaged 43 points since the last 3 games. This is surely a lot to ask from the 36-YO. However, he has always put the team first. His selfless service to the franchise is exceptional. Hall of Famer James Worthy has been vocal on the performance of LeBron James. “He and I don’t get tired,” Worthy said. “LeBron… His mind is built to play. He doesn’t really look at minutes. I’m a little concerned (because) 40+ minutes reeks a lot of body fatigue, he’s tired. But he’s able to do it. He puts a lot of preparation into his body.”

The Lakers’ franchise has seen extremities during the games. There is a stark difference between qualities of the team. While Lakers have always had a great roster compared to any of their opponents. But they haven’t been playing with the same spirit. Their games should have been easy wins rather than pushing to overtime. Head coach Frank Vogel rightly said that when other teams have bad games, they lose. While Lakers have fought till the end securing victories.

Leading team each night was LeBron James and his excellence. Undoubtedly he has been the best mentor on court. He fought and influenced the team to fight. Although he is exhausting himself a lot. With an average of 38 minutes on court, he is doing way more for his age. Maybe the team needs to rest him a bit for his optimum performance.
