Jan Blachowicz turns 38; The Super Pole just keeps going from strength to strength!
Jan Blachowicz

Just a year ago, on his 37th birthday, Jan Blachowicz wouldn’t have thought about getting his hands on the light-heavyweight title. He hadn’t even fought in a title fight in the UFC before. Today he turns 38 and is the light-heavyweight champion. What an insane turn of events, a year can produce!

After having beaten Corey Anderson on the 15th of February, last year, Blachowicz kept his winning momentum going, and fortunately for him, Jon Jones, the then light-heavyweight champion relinquished his belt, moving to the heavyweight division. And just like that, the ‘Super Pole’ Jan Blachowicz found himself within touching distance from the title. He took on Dominick Reyes at UFC 253, and landed a devastating knockout blow, winning the light-heavyweight title.

They call him ‘The Prince of Cieszyn‘!

Just ten days, from now, Jan Blachowicz will be defending his light-heavyweight title against Israel Adesanya, who recently moved to the light-heavyweight division, after having conquered middleweight to the fullest. Blachowicz will be looking forward to making his later years special, as the now-38-year old enters the twilight years of his career.

The ageing Blachowicz wouldn’t be having it easy against the largely versatile Izzy. He will have to back his ‘Polish Power’ come the 6th of March. Here’s hoping that the turn of 38 will bring in more success and superstardom to the Prince of Cieszyn.
