Jhuma Khatun, India’s middle distance runner has been banned by the World governing body of Athletics Integrity Unit for four years. She has been tested positive for banned substance.
In June 2018, during the National Inter-State Championships her dope sample has been collected but the reports were negative when it was tested in New Delhi. In Guwahati meet, she won bronze each in 1500m and 5000m races.
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) decided to check her sample in the laboratory of Canada. She’s been tested positive for dehydrochloromethyl testosterone. Not only Khatun but four more Indians including Nirmala Sheoran, whose reports were negative in 1st time and came positive after testing in Montreal laboratory.
