American UFC Champion Jon Jones is in awe of Kamaru Usman. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ is undoubtedly a starfighter and yet lacks a huge fanbase. Usman is a champion who has fought against top fighters and won most of them in the UFC welterweight division. In the recent fight of UFC 251 at the Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, the astoundingly beat Jorge Masvidal had retained his welterweight belt. But it wasn’t enough to stop people from criticizing him.

Jon Jones tweeted in admiration of Usman after the big fight, “Congratulations champ. Respect to Masvidal for taking that fight last minute, most men ain’t doing that.”

The 33-year-old firing fighter, Usman has successfully won his title against Colby Covington and Masvidal. Jon Jones even tweeted in respect of Masvidal, “Respect to Masdival for taking that fight last minute, most men ain’t doing that.

To Jones’s tweet for Usman, someone criticized ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ in the comments saying, “Clinch clinch clinch.. Unanimous decision to Usman.. Wow.”

But Jones quickly bounced back tweeting, “Yet everyone loves Randy couture.” Jones is a fan of Usman inside the Octagon and by his tweets, it doesn’t seem he is going to let go of that publicly. He is standing to defend the Welterweight Champion which shows his respect for the fighter.

Fans appreciate Randy Couture which is justifiable but it is definitely going to take a while before they start doing the same for Usman. He is yet to prove his skills to the world. He has defended his title twice now. But according to fans, it’s going to take more battle victories to reach the success level of Couture.

UFC President Dana White announced Gilbert Burns as the next opponent for Kamaru Usman who was initially planned to fight at the UFC 251. But he had to withdraw at the last moment because he tested positive for Coronavirus.
