Justin Gaethje got his title shot against Khabib Nurmagomedov and lost the fight, when Khabib locked in a triangle choke, Khabib announced his retirement right after that fight.

Dana White was involved in a continuous back and forth with the former champion to get him out from his retirement but it looks like Khabib is gone for good, both Khabib and dana White posted final confirmation post for Khabib’s retirement, and the lightweight title match was announced soon after.

Charles Oliveira vs Michael Chandler has been booked for the lightweight title at UFC 262, and the former number one contender Justin Gaethje thought he would get a piece of Chandler for the title, he didn’t.

He posted this on his Twitter handle, “I woke up yesterday to train for a matchup with Chandler on May 15th expecting a bout agreement any moment. Today that is not the case, I don’t know what I do yet but I like this feeling. It was a good day at sparring practice.”

It looks like Justin is feeling left out but maybe he can face the winner of Poirier vs Conor in a title eliminator bout to challenge the future lightweight champion.

Dustin Poirier just defeated Conor McGregor in a rematch and made the score 1-1 with him, Dustin became the first person to knock Conor out in an MMA match, and he said that although claiming the lightweight title is the ultimate goal but first he needs to settle the rematch with Conor.

Ariel Helwani disclosed that their fight is not happening anytime soon, so we are eager to hear the date for the much-anticipated trilogy match.
