Manchester City have one of the best mid-fielders in the world right now. Its no one other than the Belgian Kevin De Bruyne. Despite getting knocked out in the Quarter finals of UCL, De Bruyne managed to win the Best Midfielder of the year award presented by UEFA.
Reports now suggest that Manchester City are working hard to make the Belgian stay at Etihad for a long term. Manchester City are reportedly making impressive progress on making De Bruyne sign a new five year contract.
De Bruyne’s evolution at Manchester City
Kevin De Bruyne was signed by Manuel Pelligrini while he was in charge of Manchester City. De Bruyne was signed from Wolfsburg for a record fee of £55m. He was then the second highest paid transfer just behind Angel Di Maria who was signed by Manchester United for £59.7m.
The Belgian has played 227 games for Manchester City across all competitions. He has managed to score 58 goals and provide a record breaking 90 assists for his teammates. Since his arrival at Etihad he has won 2 Premier League titles, 4 English League Cups, 1 FA Cup and 1 English Super Cup.
Kevin De Bruyne still has three years left in his contract at Manchester City. The 2018/19 EPL Champions are looking forward to reward Kevin De Bruyne with a new contract which has time and again been a key part of City’s policy. According to the reports of The Times City are making a great progress on making the Belgian sign a new five year contract which will make him earn lot more than his current contract. Reports suggest that City are also adding some bonuses in his new contract. Along with De Bruyne Manchester City are also keen on securing Raheem Sterling by making him sign a new contract.
