Kho-Kho player Nasreen is facing financial problem amid lockdown, seeks help

Whole world is facing COVID-19 pandemic and have taken measures to stop it. India has also enforced complete lockdown to stop the spread of coronavirus. But it has affected many people all over the country as they can’t even fend their daily needs.

Nasreen, Indian National Kho-Kho team skipper is facing financial problems. She was the captain of gold-winning side in South Asian Games. Her father used to sell steel utensils but right now he is not working and not able to arrange food as lockdown is going on.

Nasreen said, “My father used to sell utensils but due to lockdown, he is not able to go out which resulted in a financial crisis for the family. He is the sole earner in the family. Everything is closed during this lockdown. We are having trouble getting the ration.

The general secretary of the Kho Kho Federation of India Tyagi Sir helped us but our problems are not getting any easier.”

As her father is the only earner of the family, her family is facing a lot of problems. She is hoping that the Delhi government will help her family in this critical situation.

“I had high hopes from the Delhi government as I led the national side, but they are not replying to my tweets. Only my father earns in the family. We are having trouble. I request Kejriwal Sir to look into my problems. I am hurt that he has not looked into the matter as of now,” said by Nasreen.

An organization named “Dilli waley ki baatein” helped her and delivered sufficient food and cash. But the heart of the matter is that we often neglect our athletes who brought glory to the nation. Delhi government and sports ministry should look into this matter and provide her basis amenities.
