Indian batsman KL Rahul has raised almost INR 8 Lakhs by auctioning his autographed 2019 World Cup Cricket Kit, he will be using this money in the bid to help vulnerable children.
Earlier, on his 28th birthday, Rahul donated his 2019 WC’s personal cricket kit to Bharat Army, who auctioned his accessories to raise funds.
Among all the auctioned equipments, Rahul’s bat fetched the most money as it was sold for a total of ₹ 2,64,228.
Among others, Rahul’s helmet fetched ₹ 1,22,677, his pads ₹ 33,028, his ODI jersey ₹ 1,13,240, his T20 jersey ₹ 1,04,824, his Test jersey for ₹ 1,32,774 and lastly his gloves for ₹ 28,782.
All the collective money will go to The ‘Aware Foundation’ that works on the aim to provide disadvantaged and vulnerable children in India, a better life & education.
On picking up this foundation for the cause, Rahul said, “It’s a foundation that looks towards helping children. It is very special and I could not pick a better day to do this.”
