Apart from sweating it out on the field, the players of cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) are also involved in promotional activities off the field. And India’s star player and Kings XI Punjab skipper KL Rahul is not an exception to it as he is using the social media platform to engage with his fans.

Rahul, who promotes Redbull India, tweeted videos and spoke about the topsy-turvy ride in his career. He said he always wanted to “bring the version of himself”.

‘I have been determined to bring the best version of myself’

Rahul started off as a destructive batsman early in his career and was known to clobber bowlers over the fence with ease. The 28-year-old became the first Indian to score a century in ODI debut in 2016 and went on to achieve the triple numbers in all three format of the game.

The number four ICC T20 batsman will lead the Kings XI Punjab team this season, slated to begin from September 19th in UAE.

The Kings XI batsman’s journey has been marred with setbacks. He was removed as Test opener during India’s tour Down Under where he made way for his friend and Kings XI fellow batsman Mayank Agarwal. Although, he made a stunning comeback in T20 cricket and has started knocking the door for his place in the Test format.

Talking about his career, Rahul said, “No matter what I am doing. I have always been determined to be the best version of myself, physically and mentally.”

Besides his torrid time in the field, the stylish batsman, along with his teammate Hardik Pandya, was also dropped from the squad after his controversial comments on talk show, Koffee with Karan. Cricket pundits and critics have doubted his technique and capability as a player.

In the video, when he was asked about his doubters, he said,  “Shut out the noise. Doubts? Question marks? We all face them, and I am no different. But what matters is how we react to them.”
