WWE Superstars are well known for ribbing each other. Ribs are just friendly banters and taunts, which the stars love to get involved in while on the road and inside the locker room.
One former WWE Champion who has been often accused of backstage bullying is JBL. His name recently cropped up when Kurt Angle was discussing backstage ribbing on ‘The Kurt Angle Show’. The WWE Hall of Famer revealed that JBL just used to verbally tease everyone.
It is a well known fact that many wrestlers physically ribbed one another and many pulled off unwanted pranks. Angle explained that the former WWE Champion never indulged in drastic ribs and was always involved in vocal harmless ribs.
“JBL just, he verbally ribbed everybody. He didn’t do a lot of ribs, but he was very vocal, and you know, he was a bit of a bully. I mean, He’s harmless; he doesn’t mean to be offensive.”
Kurt Angle justifies JBL’s backstage ribbing
Angle mentioned that JBL’s personality was such that he always felt the need to pick on someone, and he personally found JBL very entertaining. In fact, his ribs were one of the few things that kept Angle entertained, while they were on the road.
“He just has that personality, where, you know, he needs to rib on someone, pick on someone, about something, you know, he was entertaining though. It wasn’t really a bad thing. It was actually a good thing that he did. It made our days on the road a lot more entertaining that he was ribbing people.”
JBL has attracted a lot of heat throughout his career for being a backstage bully. But Angle’s recent comments provide a completely new perspective on JBL’s personality.
