Mbappe – The French superstar

In no way is Kylian Mbappe having a flop season. The striker has already scored 14 times and assisted eight in all competitions this season. But such is the high standards he has set for himself that this performance is looking below par for the French international.

A lot is happening at PSG at the moment with Thomas Tuchel being sacked, Mauricio Pochettino being deployed- there’s a lot of change at the club in this moment.

Furthermore there’s the pressure of renewing the contracts of their two star players- Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Jr. With the Brazilian tipped towards staying at Paris does it mean Mbappe will leave?

With Mbappe’s contract running out in 2022, there’s already a lot of talk about him moving on especially towards Real Madrid. Hence a lot of attention is going to be driven towards him in the summer transfer window.

Neymar Jr and Kylian Mbappe

The most important thing for us remains that he fulfilled his role well, did the things he was asked to do and had opportunities. It’s just a matter of time. We must not forget that he has just played four matches in 13 days. He has played a lot of games in recent months.” said Jesus Parez (standing in for Mauricio Pochettino)

The comeback has been complicated, especially physically, because we reached the champions league final and we hardly had any preparation. Many players tested positive for coronavirus and some went with their international teams,” he said.
