La Liga might not start before summer this year, says Spain’s Health Minister

On Monday, Spain’s Health Minister Salvador Illa said that the domestic competition La Liga may not start before summer this year. Currently all the sport events has been halted due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The health minister has refused to provide any time frame for the restart the competition because the situation is not in under control. There has been no football action in Spain due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

“I cannot say if football is going to be able to restart its activity before summer. It would be imprudent of me to offer a definitive view,” Spain’s health minister Illa said.

Training has been extended of La Liga teams. This decision was taken by Spain’s National Sports Council (CSD), the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) in last weekend meeting.

The various news reports come in front of the people that the La Liga will be restart from the second week of June but the health minister statement has cancelled this report.

Barcelona has been moved to the top spot before the suspension of the La Liga. Spain has badly hit by this pandemic situation. This country has seen over 23000 deaths.
