League of Legends Worlds 2021 group stage draws: PSG Talons in Pool A!

The biggest event in esports, the League of Legends Worlds Championship will soon start from 5th October 2021. This year the League of Legends Worlds 2021 group stage draw features PSG Talons moving up into Pool A and the top seed for NA, 100 Thieves have dropped down to Pool B.

The League of Legends Worlds 2021 will be starting soon from 5th October and the Play-Ins and Group stages have been announced by LoLesports. The tournament will take place Laugardalshöll indoor sporting arena, Hall A, in Reykjavik, Iceland.

There have been some interesting changes to the group stage draws an pools formed by the teams. The LCS first seed this year, 100 Thieves are no longer in Pool A and have been moved down to Pool B. Meanwhile the PCS region first seed has moved up to Pool A in Worlds 2021 group stage.

Worlds 2021 Group Stage draws: Pool A & B revealed

The Top seeds from each regions are the follows:

• China (LPL) : EDward Gaming (EDG)
• Korea (LCK): DWG KIA (DK)
• Europe (LEC): MAD Lions (MAD)
• North America (LCS): 100 Thieves (100)
• Southeast Asia (PCS): PSG.Talon Esports (PSG)
• Brazil (CBLOL): RED Canids Kalunga (RED)
• Commonwealth of Independent States (LCL): Unicorns of Love (UOL)
• Japan (LJL): DetonatioN FocusMe (DFM)
• Oceania (LCO): PEACE (PCE)
• Latin America (LLA): INFINITY (INF)
• Turkey (TCL): Galatasaray Esports (GS)

The group stage for Worlds 2021 has been revealed and the pools are as follows:

Pool A

• EDG (EDward Gaming)
• DK (DWG KIA)
• MAD (MAD Lions)
• PSG (PSG Talon Esports)

Pool B

• FPX (FunPlus Phoenix)
• GEN (Gen. G)
• FNC (Fnatic)
• 100 (100 Thieves)

This is the first time in Worlds 2021 that the top seed from LCS has not obtained a spot in the Pool A of the group stage. Team 100 Thieves are a new team in NA who surprised everyone in the summer split and earned the first seed in the LCS region.

However, they were overshadowed by the team PSG Talon Esports who had a great year this time and took the top spot for their region. They won over reputable teams like RBG, Cloud9 and more and definitely deserve their spot in Pool A!

Players can find the group stage draw on Wednesday, 22nd September, 2021 at 7am CT.

The tournament will begin on October 5th, 2021 and players can watch it on the official lolesports or YouTube Channels.
