Lebron James’ former arch rival Paul Pierce names him as the best Point Guard in the league. The NBA keeps on having a different poll on every ranking, spot for the players, sparking debates among the fans. Recently a survey was revealed for the best point guards in the league and according to the NBA GMs, Lebron finished 5th with only 11% votes. Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry got the maximum votes with 30%, followed by Damian Lillard, Luka Doncic and Chris Paul.

Lebron James had most number of assists in the league, last season. However, James was named as the best small forward with more than 50% of the votes going to him. Former NBA Champion and Celtics’ great Paul Pierce recently stopped for a short ESPN interview where he placed his bet on LeBron James.

“If Lebron plays PG, he is the best player” Paul Pierce

“Usually I would say Luka Doncic, but if LeBron’s the player and he plays point guard, I see that the best point guard in the league. He led the league in assists. I forgot LeBron just want to point guard by the way, and he is clearly the best point guard in the league,” Paul expressed.

Paul Pierce further added to his statements pledging his support for LeBron as the best PG in the league. “This is like the year when Bill Russell won MVP and wasn’t even on the first team of All-NBA,” he joked.

“This is just like boxing, when you don’t fight for years, you get stripped of your title. You got to go back and fight for it again. This is the same difference. Now we know how amazing Steph Curry is, Dame Lillard, but you got to reclaim that. Dame Lillard has phenomenal games but if LeBron is a point guard, he has to be the best,” concluded Paul Pierce.

The qualities that a world-class PG must possess are great ball-handling skills, high efficiency per possession, top-class shooting percentage, ability to penetrate quickly, and making others around better. There is no doubt that Lebron even at this age is doing enough to make all these qualities meet ends. Also, there would be no surprise, if we see him doing it in the upcoming season as well.
