“We are back” the chant that is going to be sung by all Leeds fans in next season’s premiere league. Leeds United are on the verge of winning the Championship needing just 1 point against Wayne Rooney’s Derby.

Leeds United’s promotion was confirmed with West Bromwich Albion’s 2-1 loss to at Huddersfield. Westbrom’s loss ensured Leeds’s promotion to the top flight. Manger Marcelo Bielsa is being hailed as the King of Ellland road. As he ended LeedsUnited’s 16 year wait for top flight football.

The clubs Official Twitter handle tweeted “We are back.Leeds United are Premier League”.

 Leeds are on the top with five points clear and they can confirm the Championship title with a just one point against Derby at Pride Park on Sunday.

Leeds captain Liam Cooper said “It’s unbelievable and it’s still not sunk in, Our club, our fans and our players have sacrificed so much. We’ve been in the doldrums for 16 years.To lead this team to promotion. back to where we know we’ve always belonged is unbelievable. We deserve it. We’ve been the best team all season.”

In 2003–04 season  Leeds United relegated from the Premier League after 14 years in the top flight. This came three years after reaching the Champions League semi-finals

Leeds is one of the sides  with a lot of football heritage in England with a wide fan base. Although Leeds United did have some financial troubles in the past . Leeds further fell from grace when they were relegated to division 3 championship. However Marcelo turned Leeds’s fortune around and now they will resume top flight football in the coming season.
