The fight between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia was sure to draw a lot of fans to their rivalry. Naturally, sports athletes are the first to catch a fight happening. They also happen to be the ones who like to place wagers on such fights. Former Super Bowl champion LeSean McCoy happened to be one such star athlete who lost $250,000 betting on Haney.

Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia brought a fight to the forefront which had the latter coming into the fight in a seemingly broken state of mind. Knowing this, many had placed bets on Haney, as he was a near runaway favorite. McCoy decided to bet $250,000 on Haney to win, only for him to lose the entire amount after Ryan Garcia won the fight via. a majority decision.

Losing that amount of money might not be much for someone who has earned over $60 million in his playing career. However, losing is not something athletes like very much.

A screenshot then did the rounds showing the actual bet the player with the most rushing yards in the 2010s made. Had he won, he would have made $275,000. The winning amount may not be much, however, the thrill of winning a bet may have lured McCoy into the wager.

LeSean McCoy does love sports other than football. Now it is clear that he loves boxing. However, he has also shown his love for basketball.

LeSean McCoy’s bad day with Philadelphia 76ers losing too

McCoy posted a tweet a few hours before the Haney-Garcia fight hyping up the Philadelphia 76ers in their 1st playoff match. He showed his support on X.

He tagged the 76ers official account along with the tweet. However, the match ended up with the 76ers losing against the New York Knicks.

For the former Philadelphia Eagles rushing leader, this was just the start of his losing day. The 76ers lost by 7 points to the Knicks with a visibly limited Joel Embiid in the lineup. No one knows if McCoy bet on that game.

Whereas he publicly talked about betting his money on Haney. Ending the day with both losses, he took it sportingly and laughed at himself in the process.
