Kevin Lee last fought in the octagon at UFC Fight Night 170 against Charles Oliveira in a lightweight bout. The fighter lost to Oliveira in the third round via submission. The fight took place in March 2020. Lee is looking to make a comeback soon.

The Motown Phenom recently gave an interview with MMA Junkie in which he spoke about the current state of UFC’s lightweight division. He had some words on Khabib Nurmagomedov’s retirement. “I think they (UFC) should go ahead and let the man retire. Let him retire, let him retire and enjoy himself a little bit. Let him take his mind off the game and let the game miss him a little bit.

“(Nurmagomedov’s retirement) adds a lot to the game, that’s for sure. It makes it exciting. It makes it a little more fun, and I think overall it’s going to end up being better. I think he’ll sell more pay-per-views when he does come back”, said Kevin Lee.

While Kevin was gone, there was a rematch between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier. Dustin shook the world with his win at the UFC 257. When Lee was asked about the impact the rematch had he said, “I think that shocked a lot of people. It shocked everyone. I think it even shocked McGregor – I could see it in his eyes when he was going down.

Kevin also feels that the loss of Conor falls in favor of him. “They’re going to want to see him lose again, they’re going to want it again. And for me, personally, it’s great because with him losing, now I can fight him sooner.”
