Let’s pledge to defeat COVID-19 together by lightning lamps tonight: Shooter Manu Bhaker


Indian shooter, Manu Bhaker has appealed her fans to come together on the 5th of April and take a pledge by lightning diyas, candles and lamps at 9 pm to defeat coronavirus after the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Taking to Twitter, she wrote, “Let us all come together in this fight against COVID-19 and honorable prime minister Narendra Modi Ji’s call, turn off all the lights of your house at 9 o’clock for 9 minutes tonight and light lamps on your roof, balcony or doors and take a pledge to defeat coronavirus together. Jai Hind.”

Manu Bhaker is an Indian Air Pistol shooter. She has represented India at the 2018 ISSF world cup and won 2 gold medals and also won a 10m air pistol event at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She swept all gold medal in mix team event in all World Cup in 2019. She also won Gold in 10m air pistol at the year ending ISSF world cup finals.

In the video message shared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 2nd April, he addressed to the citizens of India and appealed them to turn off the lights of their houses at 9 pm and light candles, diyas, mobile flashlight for 9 minutes to defeat coronavirus. Earlier, on the day of Janata Curfew, he has asked to beat Thali and Taali to thank the workers who have indulged themselves to protect the motherland.

As per the data given by the Ministry of health and family, it shows that positive coronavirus cases had increased to 3,374 and death rose to 77 while 267 have been cured.
