Ligue 1: Lille vs Paris Saint-Germain Player Ratings as PSG thrash Lille 5-1

Lille vs Paris Saint-Germain: Titleholders Lille hosted PSG in Matchday 23 of the Ligue 1 but it was the current league leaders that made a statement with a tormenting victory.

Grbic’s error gave Danilo a simple tap in before Botman equalized for Lille through Ben Arfa’s brilliance. Kimpembe scored from a corner and Messi scored his second goal in Ligue 1 for PSG inside the first half.

Danilo scored a second goal through a deflected shot and Mbappe closed the scoring riot through a scorcher of a goal.

Let’s have a look at the player ratings for the match: –

Lille vs Paris Saint-Germain Player Ratings

Ivo Grbic (2/10): Grbic had a game to forget as he was sloppy and made two crucial mistakes which resulted in goals.

Mehmet Zeki Celik (4.1/10): The right-back was ineffective against pacy Mbappe and could not stop attacks from the flank.

Jose Fonte (5.1/10): The veteran center-back was not up to his usual standards, conceding 5 goals.

Sven Botman (6.1/10): Botman was decent at the back but his vital contribution in the match was the first-half goal.

Gabriel Gudmundsson (4.9/10): Gudmundsson was average in the left-back position as he provided too much space for PSG’s forwards to make attacks.

Timothy Weah (6.8/10): The American winger made a good couple of crosses into the box but was out of the game for a large part.

Benjamin Andre (6.6/10): Andre’s passes were perfect when attacking, but the midfielder could not orchestrate the midfield.

Amadou Onana (7/10): Onana playing in the place of injured Renato Sanchez had a decent outing. He had shots on target and showed a good presence in the middle of the park

Jonathan Bamba (7.7/10): Bamba’s wing play created chances for Lille. His dribbling was hard to counter and he was finding good spaces to play the ball in midfield.

Jonathan David (6.1/10): The Canadian international was mediocre and did not impose any threat.

Hatem Ben Arfa (7.8/10): Ben Arfa’s individual brilliance made way for Lille’s only goal of the match.

Angel Gomes (6.1/10): Missed a good chance in the final minutes as he put a shot wide of goal post.

Domagoj Bradaric (5.6/10): Bradaric replaced Bamba. Other than getting booked for a clumsy challenge on Mbappe, his substitution did not make any difference.

Edon Zhegrova: (NA)

Gianluigi Donnarumma (7.3/10): Donnarumma made a few good saves but could have had a clean sheet if he was a bit more clinical.

Achraf Hakimi (7.5/10): The right back’s electric speed was a constant threat to Lille’s defenders and was defensively neat.

Marquinhos (7.1/10): PSG’s skipper was positionally brilliant and played exceptional long balls to Mbappe.

Presnel Kimpembe (8.3/10): Kimpembe was rock solid in the back. He made crucial blocks and tackles. The center-back also scored an impressive goal from Messi’s corner.

Nuno Mendes (7.2/10): Mendes was excellent in defensive positions and made good interceptions.

Leandro Paredes (8.2/10): Paredes made important blocks inside the box and was clinical in his passing. He also provided an assist to Danilo.

Danilo Pereira (8.9/10): The Portuguese had a fantastic match as he scored 2 goals. The first goal was a simple tap and the second was a deflected shot on target which ended up in the net.

Marco Verratti (8/10): Verratti was in his usual best going past players in the midfield and pushing forward with the ball. He had 95% passing accuracy.

Angel Di Maria (6.2/10): Made a couple of good runs before going out injured in the 45th minute.

Kylian Mbappe (8/10): Mbappe scored a banger of a goal from outside the box curling into the top corner. His pace kept the opponents on their toes as he kept making runs throughout the match.

Lionel Messi (9.1/10): Messi gave a man-of-the-match performance as he scored a goal and assisted one. He would have scored another if not for his free-kick hit the crossbar.

Julian Draxler (6.4/10): Came in at the end of the first half and linked up well with Messi and Mbappe, creating a few chances.
