Jurgen Klopp, the Liverpool manager says that there is no chance Liverpool will sign Messi. The Barcelona star has created a buzz in football world after reportedly wanting to leave FC Barcelona. Jurgen Klopp was asked about bringing Messi to Liverpool but the German declined it.

Manchester City are the club linked with signing Messi with PSG and Inter Milan also the names reported. Interest for the generational talent is high but not everyone can afford him.

Klopp on Messi to Liverpool

On interest in signing Messi, Klopp said, “Interest? Yeah who doesn’t want to have Messi in their team! But no chance. The numbers are absolutely not for us, so we don’t even have to start thinking about it! It is clear, there is no chance. But…good player to be honest.”

Klopp was speaking at the press conference for a preview of the Community Shield. The German was also asked about the possibility of Messi coming to Premier League and joining Manchester City. Klopp said, “It would obviously help Manchester City. It would make it even more difficult to beat them – and it was already very difficult.”

Klopp added that it will be great for Premier League whatsoever. “Having, I think the best player in the world come to the league would obviously help. I am not sure the Premier League needs a boost, but it will be a boost,” added Klopp.

“It would be interesting to see as well. Messi never played in another league than Spain. Football is different here, so I actually would like to see it. But I am not sure if I will.”

Klopp on Liverpool’s transfer business

The Liverpool manager was also asked about the Reds’ activity in the market. Until now, only Kostas Tsimikas, the Greek left-back was added to the Premier League winning squad. However, Klopp suggests, there is still time.

“I do not know what will happen. There is a long run until October 6. We will see what the other teams will do but we are more or less in our situation, and we will deal with our situation like we always did.”

“I think the philosophy of the club is pretty clear. We will see how much we can and how much we want to spend. There is nothing really to say about it.”

Klopp and his Liverpool side are preparing for the Community Shield match against Arsenal. The Community Shield pits together, the Premier League winners against the FA Cup winners. Liverpool and Arsenal will both want to have a winning start to the new campaign.
