Maharashtra Became First State To Host Online Wushu State Championships

The first online Maharashtra State Wushu Taolu Championship was inaugurated at 11 am on Tuesday. Many guests were present at the inauguration ceremony online.

The event was organized by Bhupendra Singh Bajwa, President of the Wushu Association of India. Apart from him, it included the Indian Olympic Association joint secretary Namdev G. Shirgavkar, Wushu Association of India CEO Sohail Ahmed, All Maharashtra Wushu Association President Sambhaji Jende and All Maharashtra Wushu Association general secretary Sopan Katke.

More than 155 participants from all over Maharashtra will participate in this online championship. Starting today, this championship will be held till 30 April. Players will also be selected for national competitions through this online competition.

Rules have been made for the championship and under this, the contestants have to play their event in their house in which the roof or garden is not used. If the player uses outdoor then he will be disqualified. Along with this, the players will get their certificates and medals at their home. Participation in this championship is completely free.

Shiv Chhatrapati Award winning players Shravani Katke and Omkar Pawar will also participate in the online championship.

Sandeep Sheller Sir (Mumbai), Nilesh Valimbe Sir (Satara), Bhushan Marathe Sir (Jalgaon), Pratishtha Shinde Maim (Pune) will be the judges of this championship.
