Malaysia Masters: Disastrous day for Indian shuttlers 2

It was a bad start of 2020 season for Indian badminton. There were three qualification matches and one round 1 match today. But it was a disastrous day as Indian shuttlers lost all four matches.

The day started with qualification matches and Subhanker Dey and Lakshya Sen were in fray for men’s singles. In first match Subhanker dey was up against Daren Leiw but he lost 21-15, 21-15 in 32 minutes.

In next match Lakshya Sen was facing Solberg Vittinghus of Denmark. After a superb 2019 everybody was hoping a good game from him. He started well and won the first game easily. But lost next two games and match by 11-21, 21-18, 21-14.

In women’s doubles qualification match, pair of Pooja Dandhu/Sanjana Santosh lost to Indonesian pair in straight sets 21-15, 21-10.

Then Indian men’s doubles pair Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy on court. But they flattered against the Malaysian pair of Ong Yew Sin/ Teo Ee Yit 15-21, 21-18 15-21 in first round match.

Now all hopes on World champion P.V Sindhu and Sai Praneet, who will start their campaign tomorrow.
