Malaysia organizes Durian party

Badminton Academy of Malaysia (BAM) organized a ‘durian party’ for 16 shuttlers to break their monotonous routine and boredom. The shuttlers are going through their first phase of training after the lockdown. The training started on Ist June and will end on 30 June.

Since athletes were out of training for a long time and could lose interest in the game, BAM thought of organizing this feast to refresh the players. The players are undergoing a Road To Tokyo (RTT) program in quarantine style at BAM.

BAM secretary-general Datuk Kenny revealed that the party was hosted by the coaching director to cheer up players. He also said that they recently celebrated a player’s birthday.

Kenny optimistically said yesterday that it would be a usual business when the season resumes in September. Kenny disclosed that players were showing good results in their preparation for upcoming events.

Meanwhile, coaching director Choong Hann said that the players have adapted well enough. He said; “They were going through the recovery phase for the last three weeks.”

The director also wrote on BAM’s Facebook page that they are targeting to get players back into their shape and improve their overall strength.
