Manchester United title charge on as gap to the top cut to five points with a game in hand for further points

Victory over Leeds United and Tottenham’s defeat to Leicester meant that Manchester United leapfrogged the latter to third place. The gap between Liverpool and Manchester United is five points and the latter have a chance to cut down it to two points as they have a match in hand. This season can be as entertaining as the 2018/19 season with Leicester still in the mix.
Liverpool have a chance to put even more points between the challengers
Take a look at the next few matches for the top three placed teams of the Premier League; Liverpool face West Brom at home and Newcastle United away. They have the chance to welcome back Thiago Alcantara for the match against West Brom if all goes well. Leicester and Manchester United will face each other at the King Power Stadium with the former going on to play Crystal Palace and the latter taking on Wolves.
Liverpool have a chance to put a lot of vital points between the challengers and take a healthy double-digit lead into the next year. Those points difference will be vital to them as their form consistently dips in this month. Either one of Leicester or Manchester United will drop points when they face each other next and it is advantage to Liverpool only. Both of them face tough opponents after this match and will have to struggle hard to get the points.
Manchester United can cut down the points difference to two points by the time they meet Liverpool at Anfield on 17th January. This is one match neutrals will have to look out for as it will be an all-or-nothing clash to determine who can take a lead late into 2021. They are equipped to do that as Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford lead from the front with the goals. However Leicester are not to be taken for granted as Jamie Vardy and Co. are really the dark horses as always. Brendan Rodgers is capable of springing a surprise and break Manchester United’s momentum.
