At the end of the Manchester United vs Manchester City game at Old Trafford, here are our Manchester United vs Manchester City player ratings.

Manchester United once again reverted to 5-3-2 with three at the back. However, the shaky start did not help their cause as Eric Bailly conceded an own goal in the first ten minutes. As the game progressed, Manchester United created the chances. However, they could not capitalize on the same. In the final moments of the first half, Shaw and David de Gea made a combined error resulting in the 2-0 at half-time. 

Throughout the second half, Manchester United chased the game but to their no avail, they could not find the back of the net. The manager made attacking substitutions to get better of the defense but failed to do so. Ole made four subs as Shaw was ruled out due to concussion. Manchester City calmed the game when Manchester United decided to step up their attacking impetus. The Blue half of the Manchester came away with a cleansheet in the derby.

David de Gea (7/10): The Spaniard conceded the second goal very cheaply but five saves in the first half tells the story. He was on top of his “A” game until the second goal. 

Aaron Wan Bissaka (6/10): After pocketing Raheem Sterling throughout the derbies in the past, he could not stop Phil Foden and Cancelo on that flank. 

Eric Bailly (6/10): Eric Bailly was drafted in after the huge game against Atalanta. However, he went on to concede an early own goal.

Victor Lindelof (6.1/10): The Swedish central defender returned to the line-up but he also was hapless throughout the half. However, his passing accuracy was unmatched.

Harry Maguire (6/10): The skipper had an early chance to score the goal but put it wide. On the other hand, he did not assure the defence. 

Luke Shaw (6/10): Once again, the English defender was poor in the defense. He could not create chances and neither did he defend well. He was the reason behind the second goal as he failed to track Silva. 

Scott McTominay (6/10): The Scottish midfielder was non-existent throughout the first half. Neither did he create the chances nor did he break the lines of the opposition. 

Fred (6.1/10): The Brazilian was tenacious in the midfield for the team. He broke the attack but was unable to put the pressure on the midfield trio of de Bruyne, Gundogan and Rodri.

Bruno Fernandes (6/10): The Portuguese central midfielder was again hapless in a big game. He did not create the chances and gave the possession away cheaply. 

Cristiano Ronaldo (7/10): The 37-year-old was the only shining light for Manchester United. He had a chance to score the equalizer but was parried away by Ederson. 

Mason Greenwood (6.2/10): The 20-year-old started ahead of Marcus Rashford but had the chance to justify his inclusion. He could not tap the ball behind the net. 


Jadon Sancho (6.2/10): After coming as a substitute at the halftime, Jadon Sancho had less to offer. He could not find the spaces for his side.

Marcus Rashford (6/10): The English left winger was unable to inject the speed for what he was played brought on.

Bernardo Silva

Ederson (6.1/10): The Brazilian shot-stopper had less to do throughout the game. He saved the shot off Cristiano Ronaldo. 

Joao Cancelo (6.8/10): The left-back was key for the first goal as it was his cross that draw the shot from Eric Bailly. 

Ruben Dias (6.2/10): The central defender had very little to do throughout the game as the game was more in the Manchester United half. 

John Stones (6.2/10): The English central defender had a great game as he stopped Manchester United’s strikers from creating any sort of chances. 

Kyle Walker (6.8/10): The right back was again key for the side as he not only defended but swung the crosses that created the trouble for United. 

Rodri (6.6/10): The Spaniard shielded his defense throughout the game. He had less dirty work to do against Manchester United.

Kevin de Bruyne (6.8/10): The creative playmaker caused the troubles again with his destructive passess and crosses. 

Illlkay Gundogan (6.5/10): One of the players who had an off day on the field. It did not hurt the team much. 

Phil Foden (7/10): The sensational player is on the rise as he created the chances from the left flanks. He had a dribble to his name in the game. 

Bernardo Silva (8/10): Silva was the wolf on the field. He made a run which players failed to pick up and scored the second goal for his side. 

Gabriel Jesus (6.5/10): Though Gabriel Jesus did not involve any goal, he created the chances and made daunting runs.
