Lewis Hamilton, seven time World champion is one undoubtedly one of the greatest drivers in Formula One history. In spite of being so successful, the Brit shares a budding rivalry with the Dutch driver, Max Verstappen who drives for Red Bull. Verstappen finished the 2020 season, winning the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. He ended the season on the third place in the drivers rankings, behind the Mercedes pairing of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas.

Max Verstappen in a latest interview with Ziggo Sport, heaped praise on Lewis Hamilton and stated that what Hamilton had achieved in the past decade was incredible. He also spoke about his rivalry with Lewis Hamilton, while revealing that the two get along well with each other.

“That’s there anyway, and of course it will grow over the years. It’s also quite normal when seventeen- eighteen-year-old enters the sport that it takes a while, but now it’s actually quite normal. He is very nice,” said Verstappen.

Verstappen clarifies his comments he made earlier on Hamilton winning at Mercedes

Hamilton is one of the greatest drivers of al time, says Verstappen

Max Verstappen had recently stated that anyone in the current F1 grid can win with a Mercedes car. He clarified his comments on the same and asserted that Hamilton was one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time, despite having a Mercedes car.

Lewis is certainly one of the best drivers ever. … Many drivers can win in that car, but that doesn’t take anything away from Lewis,” said Verstappen.

The young Dutch driver used Hamilton’s driving skills to give an example of his statement. “A good example is Turkey, where of course it was very difficult and where Lewis eventually won the race by just staying on the track and not making any mistakes. If you see where Valtteri ended up, with the same car, you can, of course, see the difference between a top driver and a good driver,” he said.
