Marian Vajda is the primary coach for Djokovic and the pair have achieved many highs together. Although he remained at home while Goran Ivanisevic took the reigns in Australia.
Djokovic won the title in Melbourne for the ninth time in his career, despite an unpleasant injury to his stomach muscle. Wajda pointed out that it was difficult for him because he was not with Novak in Australia.
The pair have tended to share much of the traveling in the last couple of years, but Vajda says he will be back to to help Djokovic try to conquer Rafael Nadal in Paris.

“I was sorry I wasn’t there. I will never forget when he won his first Melbourne title in 2008 and what was going on in the locker room. I wish I was with him now,” said Wajda
“We were together in Marbella, during December. Two weeks of intensive training, fitness work. We worked on service, first and second. Also on the back, which is especially important in all matches. It was a pleasure to watch from this distance how everything is used it in the final against Medvedev.”
Wajda revealed that he will be with the Serb at Roland Garros.
“We need to see what his calendar will look like. I’m worried about reports of his injury. We will certainly reduce the number of tournaments. His health must be most important to us. I think I will travel to Dubai to see him, and I will certainly be with him. at Roland Garros“, he concluded.
