Israel Adesanya might not have any problems in the middleweight division but Alex Pereira from GLORY is coming to pose a challenge for the UFC middleweight division. Alex is the only fighter to knockout The Last Stylebender in his career.

Alex Pereira is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in the world right now. The “Poatan” is currently a two-division champion in GLORY having conquered the middleweight and light heavyweight division. A recent report from De Telegraaf confirms that Pereira has agreed to sign a deal with UFC and become a part of the promotion’s roster.

Not only does Pereira bring his two division championships to the table but he is also the only fighter to knock out the king of UFC’s middleweight division, Israel Adesanya. Izzy is an elite striker and it is not easy to get your hands on “The Last Stylebender”. Despite his achievements, Periera is best-known for putting down Adesanya. Periera has a record of 33-6 in kickboxing and a record of 3-1 in his professional MMA career.

In 2019, Alex gave an interview to MMA Junkie and spoke about Adesanya. “For the sport of MMA, Adesanya is one of the best strikers in the sport, but for kickboxing, he is like many others, a guy that’s good, but over a long time didn’t evolve. He’s just one of many,” Pereira told MMA Junkie.

Pereira will most likely sign the deal with UFC once he is done fighting his next opponent Artem Vakhitov. The fight is set to happen in the Netherlands and once that goes down, the Brazilian will most likely be a UFC fighter. It is not the first time he has been linked with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. In 2018, he was going to fight in the Dana White’s Contender Series but failed to do so because of his contract with GLORY.
