PFL Champion Kayla Harrison is a little too confident about beating the Bellator featherweight champion Cris Cyborg.
Cris Cyborg, the former UFC champion and the current champion in the Bellator women’s featherweight division is coming off another spectacular title defense at Bellator 271. Despite her recent performances, Olympic medalist and two-time PFL champion, Kayla Harrison is super confident about beating Cyborg in a potential fight.
Kayla is currently the “hottest free agent” in all of MMA and is looking to up her level in terms of competition. The fighter has been in many links with the UFC but nothing certain has come out yet. Her most recent fight was in October when she defeated Taylor Guardado in October to become the champion for the second time.
In a recent episode of the “Punchin’ In” podcast, Kayla spoke about a potential matchup with Cris and said it wouldn’t be too much trouble for her. “I think I’d dominate,” said Kayla talking about a potential matchup with Cyborg.
Kayla Harrison believes Cris Cyborg career is in decline
“I mean realistically every fight is tough. You have to be smart. You have to be calculated, be a cold killer in there but I have the utmost faith in my coaches and them developing a game plan and I work harder than anybody else in the room, including her I think my career is going (up) and she’s on the end of her career,” said Kayla on the podcast.
Kayla was also present at Cyborg’s fight at Bellator 271 against Sinead Kavanagh where the former UFC champion put out the Irish opponent in the first round of the fight. After the fight, she was talking to MMA Junkie and said, “She puts on a hell of a show, and I’ve got nothing but respect for her.”
Cyborg on the other hand was asked by reporters if she would ever fancy fighting Harrison and the featherweight champion said, “I’m here if you want to fight me one day, it will be a great fight.” Who would you put your money on in a fight of Cyborg vs Harrison?
