Mohammad Nabi’s form will be a boost for SRH, worry for Kane Williamson: Aakash Chopra

Afghanistan all-rounder, Mohammad Nabi has been making useful contributions both with the bat and ball in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League 2020. Nabi has played seven matches in the league so far, claiming 10 wickets at an outstanding average of 11.40. Besides, he has exhibited stellar performances with the bat for Zouks lower down the order. Nabi’s performances have helped St. Lucia Zouks sit at number two position in the points table.
Indian cricketer-turned commentators, Aakash Chopra and Sanjay Manjrekar talked about Nabi’s contribution in the CPL 2020 during an interaction on Star Sports. Aakash Chopra, in particular, was all praise for Nabi’s ravishing all-round performances for St. Lucia Zouks.
“Mohammad Nabi has owned the CPL till now. It has been his CPL with both bat and ball. I think he has punched above his weight if you talk only about his batting. And in bowling, if you are giving only 4.5 to 4.75 runs per over, it is almost like Test match bowling.” Aakash Chopra said.
NABI’S FORM COULD HELP SRH’S LOWER-MIDDLE ORDER BATTING WOES- AAKASH CHOPRA
Aakash Chopra mentioned that Nabi’s form can help SRH’s lower-order batting woes. Though, it could be a problem for Kane Williamson. David Warner will lead the side this year and Jonny Bairstow and Rashid Khan will also be mandatory overseas picks in the playing eleven. Thus, Kane Williamson might miss his spot from the playing eleven in this year’s IPL.
“And if Nabi is batting well, then I feel there is a question mark on Kane Williamson’s place. Kane Williamson will be a little worried but Sunrisers Hyderabad will be very happy.” he added.
Sunrisers Hyderabad is counted as one of the better teams in IPL. They made their first appearance in IPL in 2013 and won their maiden title in 2016. Indian Premier League is scheduled to start from 19th September 2020 and the final will be played on 10th November 2020. All the matches will be played at three venues- Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah.
