Filip Krajinovic vs Nikoloz Basilashvili: Preview
When World no. 36 and no. 37 meet on the ATP tour, it becomes tough to choose and pick a clear winner between the two. Moreover, both these players are excellent shot-makers, but have not managed to pile up consistent results in the recent-past.
Krajinovic hasn’t enjoyed a great start to 2021 thus far and will be appearing on clay for the first time this season. It has to be noted that the Serb is very comfortable on the surface and can trouble the very best with his complete game. He missed the recently concluded Miami Masters and it will be interesting to see how he goes in Monaco.
Meanwhile, the Georgian started the season roughly, but suddenly found form in Doha. Basilashvili stunned Roger Federer en-route to a tilte in Qatar. But despite the high, he lost early in Dubai and Miami.
Filip Krajinovic vs Nikoloz Basilashvili: Head to Head
Interestingly, these two have never met in the main draw of an ATP tour. They have crossed path three times in the qualifiers though. There, the Georgian leads their tally 2-1, but on clay, the Serb has a 1-0 lead. But perhaps, the point to be noted here is that both players have not locked horns for almost six years.
Filip Krajinovic vs Nikoloz Basilashvili: Prediction
The Serb has plenty of experience and skill on clay. Furthemore, he has the weapons and variety to upset the Georgian from the back of the court. Also, Basilashvili is not very comfortable on the dirt. It should be a straight sets affair for Krajinovic.
Match Prediction: Filip Krajinovic should win in two sets.
